A very wet December 2018 had everyone worried. Floods on Christmas day were soon replaced with sunshine and westerly winds blowing gently through the vines of our Ararimu Valley vineyard. A mostly dry January and only 2mm of rainfall up until the last weekend of February had all concerned very excited.
The tail end of cyclone Pola in the last weekend of February was thankfully not as bad as predicted and our grapes came through exceptionally well.
Pinot Noir was harvest first on the 7th o f March, followed by Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Our Malbec will have to hang out a little bit longer so keep those fingers crossed.
